Transfer updates: Emile Smith Rowe close to joining Fulham from Arsenal

New Delhi: Smith Emile Following Mikel Arteta’s decision to leave Rowe out of Arsenal’s preseason friendly against Bournemouth in the United States, Rowe is getting closer to joining Fulham. Although the 23-year-old’s negotiations are still ongoing, Fulham is reportedly confident in closing a deal.

After their £30 million deal was turned down the previous week, they came back with a bid that might reach £35 million with add-ons, which would be more than the club record £27 million spent in 2018 to acquire Ivory Coast midfielder Jean Michael Seri.

Smith Rowe was left off the roster for Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Wednesday in California. Arteta decided to start a young lineup for the team’s first tour game. Following his knee injury at the close of the previous season, Smith Rowe played just 346 minutes in the Premier League, including three starts. The manager then made hints that Rowe would be leaving.

Smith Rowe, who earned his final three caps for England in 2022, has subsequently fallen in Arsenal’s hierarchy. There are many who are disappointed by Arteta’s apparent willingness to let the academy graduate go, as Crystal Palace is also interested in him.

But with Riccardo Calafiori, a Bologna player, expected to join for an initial £33.6 million, Arsenal might want to add other players, such Mikel Merino of Real Sociedad. After reaching a five-year contract, Calafiori is anticipated to finish his physical in the US and join the Arsenal team. Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri, two England Under-17 internationals, were among the academy players who received starts against Bournemouth, and Arteta was happy with their performance.

Emile Smith Rowe has been a part of Arsenal since his teenage years. After an inconsistent few years, Smith Rowe is close to signing for Fulham.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
