New Delhi: UEFA released the Euro Team of the tournament, which includes six players from champions Spain’s side, including the young winger duo of Lamine Yamal and Nico Willims. However, the list of top XI stars excluded French captain Kylian Mbappe and this season’s Ballon d’Or contender Jude Bellingham.
Spain beating England 2-1 in the final of Euro 2024 also means they will now play against Lionel Messi’s Argentina in Finallisma. Both Spain and Argentina were undefeated in their respective tournaments and had a winning ratio of 100% in them.

For his performance, Lamine Yamal was awarded the Young Player of the Tournament, and Spain’s Rodri won the Player of the Tournament. Rodri is also a leading name to be considered for the Ballon d’Or award after winning both the Premier League and Euro 2024 this season. The win also means Dani Carvajal and Nacho are now part of an elite list of players who have Euro championship and UEFA Champions League in the same season, with only 10 other players on this list before them.
Spain won their fourth Euro title after goals from Nico Williams and substitute Mikel Oyarzabal. Though English substitute Cole Palmer brought back some belief in the English camp after scoring an equalizer in the 73rd minute, Oyarzabal’s 86th-minute goal ensured that Spain were going home with the trophy. The first half of the game saw the score remain at a deadlock with cautious playing style from both sides.
The Spaniards had more possession and this has been seen by experts as the difference maker in the end. Spain started the second half by scoring their first within two minutes after halftime when Yamal found space down the right and was able to provide an assist to Williams. There were issues with England’s tactical plans and performance throughout the tournament. Spain, on the other hand, have found new talents and players who can be seen as the long-term future of the side.
