New Delhi: Harry Kane is all set to wear his 100th cap for England in their upcoming match against Finland in the UEFA Nations League 2024-25. He will be the 10th player to do so for the Three Lions when he takes part in the game played at Wembley Stadium. Kane made his debut in 2015 and has scored 66 goals for the team, making him the nation’s all-time highest scorer.
Ahead of the clash, the 31-year-old weighed in on the possibility of scoring the 100th goal for the side. Kane felt that the milestone was nearer, considering he had played 15-17 games for the side during the last three years due to three major tournaments. This is why the 100 caps for England have come quicker for Kane.

The last player to cross the 100 games for the Three Lions was Wayne Rooney, who crossed the milestone in 2014. Rooney made a total of 120 appearances for England and is the second most capped player for the side behind former goalkeeper Peter Shilton’s 125 games. Aside from them, David Beckham has made 115 appearances, Steven Gerrard has played 114 games, Bobby Moore appeared in 108 games, Ashley Cole played 107 games, Bobby Charlton and Frank Lampard have both made 106 appearances, and Billy Wright has played a total of 105 games.
Kane’s career had a remarkable start when he scored for England on debut within just 73 seconds of the kickoff. In the recent Euros, the English captain did appear a little out of touch despite scoring thrice in the tournament. During the finals against Spain, his pace seemed to have a significant fall, having struggled with a back injury before the start of the tournament.
Still, his consistency is undeniable, having started in 86 of the 99 games he has played in. Overall, he has played under four different managers for England, making his debut under Roy Hodgson and went on to play 16 games under the former England boss. Kane played once under Sam Allardyce before the English striker made 81 appearances for Gareth Southgate’s team. He scored 61 goals under Southgate and reached two European Championship finals. Now, he has started under England’s interim manager, Lee Carsley.
Tuesday’s game will make Finland the 45th opponent of Kane. In total, he has scored or assisted against ten of those teams, scoring most against Germany with four goals from as many appearances. He has played Italy the most with six appearances, scoring thrice on those occasions. If he scores in this game, He’ll become the third English player to score in their 100th game after Rooney and Charlton.
For Kane, keeping up with consistency and producing good results is the most pertinent target. He has himself spoken about the competition around him and the need to keep improving his game. With his 100th appearance in just nine years of play, Kane does have a career that will see him break many records.
Kane will become the tenth English player to achieve the feat. The English captain is the all-time highest scorer for the English side. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
