New Delhi: UFC Lightweight champion Islam Makhachev is set to defend his lightweight title against Renato Moicano at the Intuit Dome arena in Inglewood on January 19, Sunday. Earlier, Makhachev was set to face his arch-rival Arman Tsarukyan in the main event of UFC 311 but due to Arman’s back injury, he pulled out from the fight.
Moicano took the fight on one day’s notice and is all set to headline his first big PPV of UFC. The fan favorite was facing Beneil Dariush in the UFC 311 main card but after the departure of Arman, Dana White included Moicano to replace Arman.
In the co-main event, Bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili will defend his title against unbeaten Umar Nurmagomedov. Umar’s cousin and coach Khabib Nurmagomedov will be along with his brother to help him win his first major title in the UFC.
The number 2 ranked light heavyweight fighter Jiri Prochazka will battle out against number 3 ranked Jamahal Hill. This will be the best opportunity for both fighters to take a win from here and challenge Alex Periera for the light heavyweight title.
