Had the opportunity to inaugurate the newly constructed Manu Bhaker 10-metre Shooting Range at the Jiwaji Club, Gwalior. It felt nostalgic to take aim again, reminding me of my early teen years when I used to shoot. 🎯

After returning to India from the French capital, Manu has been busy with attending numerous functions for her felicitation functions after hogging the limelight at the Olympic Games.

The 22-year-old shooter became the first Indian athlete in post independence era to claim to medals in the same Olympics edition. She won a couple of bronze medals in India’s tally of six medals, equaling the haul of the London Olympics 2012.

Manu won bronze in women’s 10m air pistol and later partnered with Sarabjot Singh to add another bronze medal in the mixed team event of the 10m air pistol. She overcame the debacle of Tokyo Olympics in 2021, when she suffered a gun malfunction.
