New Delhi: The US Open 2024 is the last Grand Slam event of this calendar year. The tournament will take place from August 26 to September 8 at Flushing Meadows in New York. The prestigious Grand Slam event is organised by the United States Tennis Association since its origin in 1881 (when it was called as US National Championships).
The US Open will be played across five categories – men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles – as any other major tennis tournament.
The qualifying rounds for men’s singles and women’s singles were staged between August 19 and 23. The main draws will commence from Monday (August 26) onwards. The fourth and last tennis Grand Slam event will be played on the hard courts of Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium, and the Grandstand.

World No.71 Emma Raducanu, who won US Open 2021 as a qualifier, will return to the tournament after missing out on last year due to an injury.

The US Open 2024 is said to have set the largest purse in tennis history. The event will offer a total sum of $75 million in player compensation, which is 15% increase from last season in 2023. The men’s and women’s singles champions will each receive $3.6million. Meanwhile, the winners of the first round (main draws) will walk away with $100,000.
