New Delhi: Star India batter Virat Kohli was seen facing Jasprit Bumrah in the nets during Team India’s practice match against Prime Minister’s XI on at Manuka Oval in Canberra on Sunday, December 1. India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first in the warm-up game.
While most of the Indian bowlers and players were out on ground facing Australia’s PM XI, Bumrah was seen bowling to Kohli in the nets. Both cricketers played a crucial role in India’s 295-run victory against Australia in the first Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
Bumrah picked up eight wickets while Kohli scored an unbeaten hundred and helped India to take 1-0 lead in the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Meanwhile, the first day of the practice match was washed out due to the rain. To give both teams enough practice with the pink ball, a 50-over per team match was scheduled for Day 2, only to be reduced to 46 overs due to rain.
Talking about the match, Prime Minister XI bundled out for 240 runs. Sam Konstas scored 107 runs off 97 balls with help of 14 fours and one maximum and Jack Clayton also scored 40 runs off 52 balls. Harshit Rana picked up 4 wickets and Akash Deep also took two wickets. Chasing the 241-run target, The Men in Blue have lost two wickets of Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma.

Australia to face India in pink ball Test in Adelaide
India will take on Australia in the day-night Test match at the Adelaide Oval, starting on December 6. Pat Cummins and Co. have an great record in Day-Night Test matches and they have won 11 out of 12 matches since 2015. Australia’s only defeat was against West Indies by eight runs earlier this year at The Gabba in Brisbane. The Aussies have a 7-0 record in Pink ball Test matches at the Adelaide Oval, while India also won three Day Night matches out of the four.
