New Delhi: Star India batter Virat Kohli was spotted with an ice pack on his left leg ahead of the much-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday, February 23. Kohli arrived early for Team India’s training session in Dubai on Saturday and had an extensive batting session in the nets ahead of the Pakistan encounter.

Kohli arrived at least two hours before the start of India’s training session at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Saturday and batted against a host of net bowlers, including a lot of spinners. Following his batting session, Kohli was spotted sitting in the dugout with an ice pack strapped around his left leg. Though he didn’t look in pain, the ice pack sparked concerns regarding a potential injury scare for the star batter.

The pictures of Kohli with an ice pack around his left leg were shared by multiple journalists from Dubai. However, there was no word on whether the star batter hurt himself while batting in the nets. While it could be a recovery routine, Kohli’s ice pack pictures certainly left many fans worried ahead of the Pakistan game.

Virat Kohli will be looking to bounce back against Pakistan

Kohli, who has been struggling with his form of late, spent a considerable amount of time batting in the nets in Dubai on Saturday where he faced bowlers of all sorts to have the best possible preparation for the high-pressure clash against Pakistan. The star batter was dismissed cheaply 22 in India’s opener against Bangladesh on Thursday and will be looking to bounce back among the runs against Pakistan on Sunday.

Kohli had a lean patch during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia and his poor form continued in the ODI series against England at home where he was dismissed on 5 in the first game he played against the visitors. However, Kohli struck a gritty half-century in the final 3rd ODI against England to head into the Champions Trophy on a confident note.

He did get off to a decent start against Bangladesh in India’s opener but failed to convert it into a big start after getting dismissed on 22 by spinner Rishad Hossain. The ex-India captain has a brilliant record against Pakistan in ICC events and will be hoping to produce another impactful knock for India against the arch-rivals on Sunday.
