New Delhi: Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s latest revelation has left cricket fans stunned. Tejashwi recently revealed during an interview that he played alongside Indian cricket great Virat Kohli and also captained the star batter. Tejashwi expressed disappointment over the fact that everybody has forgotten he was a decent cricketer and played alongside some of the current players in the Indian team.
Tejashwi, who is the son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav, made the revelation during an interview with Zee News. The 34-year-old is indeed a former cricketer, who left the sport to pursue a career in politics. Tejashwi played for Delhi in junior cricket before representing Jharkhand in the domestic circuit. He was also part of the Delhi Capitals squad in the inaugural season of the IPL in 2008.
However, not many are aware of Tejashwi’s cricketing journey. Thus, his latest revelations came as a shock to cricket fans as the clip of his comments went viral on social media. He also revealed he had to leave cricket due to injury issues.
“I was a cricketer and no one talks about it. Virat Kohli played in my captaincy -did anyone ever talk about it? Why don’t they do so? As a professional, I played a good cricket. Many Team India players are my batchmates,” Tejashwi said in the interview.
“I had to quit as both ligaments in my legs got fractured. Let it be,” he added.
