New Delhi: Star India batter Virat Kohli added another feather to his cap after he completed 12000 runs in international cricket at home. Kohli achieved the landmark on Friday, during the second day of the first Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai.
After India bowled out Bangladesh for 149 on Day 2 of the match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium after their first innings score of 376, the hosts came out to bat again in the final session of the day. The Rohit Sharma-led side lost two quick wickets in form of the skipper himself and young Yashasvi Jaiswal, which paved way for Kohli to come onto the crease.

Breakdown of Kohli’s 12000 runs at home
Although, Virat Kohli has not been as prolific this season as he used to be, still the run-machine continues to scale new heights with his tiny contributions. In the longest format of the game, Kohli has 4167 runs in his kitty while the star batter has scored 6268 runs in ODIs till now. In the T20Is at home, Virat has scored 1577 runs. Meanwhile, the star batter failed to make an impact as lost his wicket at the score of just 17 runs, taking his overall tally to 12012 international runs at home.
Indian Premier League side Royal Challengers Bangalore also took to social media site X to pay a tribute to one of the one skilful players in world cricket.

Kohli’s struggle against spin continued as he was again dismissed by a spinner during the match. Since 2021 in Asia, Kohli has just managed 499 runs against spin bowlers, having been dismissed for 18 times against the slower ones.
