New Delhi: YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has been facing a lot backlash ever since his appearance on Samay Raina’s India Got Latent show. He asked a controversial question to a contestant on the show which did not go well with fans on social media and many have also unfollowed him. According to a report by an influencer marketing firm, he has lost more than 8000 followers. Famous cricketers Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh also unfollowed Ranveer on social media.

A screenshot of  Kohli’s following list has gone viral, and when a user searched for Ranveer, fans could see that the star cricketer had unfollowed him after the controversy. The podcaster is expected to appear before the police in the next couple of days to give his statement, as an FIR has been filed against him, Samay, Apoorva Makhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and the show’s producers.

Both Samay and Ranveer have issued apologies on social media and the stand-up comedian has also removed all the episodes of the India’s Got Latent from YouTube. Samay wrote on X that everything that is happening has been too much for him to handle and he has removed all India’s Got Latent videos from his channel. He further added that his only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time and he will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly.

Reports also suggested that all 30 individuals who made an appearance on the show, including Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, Samay Raina, Rakhi Sawant, Ashish Chanchlani, Balraj Ghai, Tanmay Bhat, Bharti Singh, Urfi Javed, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raftaar, and Deepak Kalal have been summoned in connection with the ongoing investigation.

Kohli scored a brisk half-century in the third ODI between India and England at the Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad. The Men in Blue clinched the ODI series by 3-0. Rohit and Co. will open their Champions Trophy campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 at the Dubai International Stadium.
