New Delhi: Cristiano Ronaldo scored the opening goal in Al-Nassr’s 3-0 win over Ettifaq in a Saudi Pro League match under their new coach Stefano Pioli. Pioli, the former AC Milan coach joined Al-Nassr following Castro’s departure due to poor start to the season.
The 39-year-old, who recently missed the Al-Nassr’s 1-1 draw with Al-Shorta due to a viral infection returned to action in style. Ronaldo converted a penalty in the 33rd minute giving Al-Nassr the lead and securing his third goal of the season.

In the scond half his teammates Salem Al-Nijdi and Anderson Talisca added two more goals to the tally helping the new coach begin his stint with a victory. Ronaldo’s leadership on the pitch remains crucial for Al-Nassr and with the victory they now moved to fourth place in the points table.
After scoring against Al-Ettifaq the Portuguese star came up with a new celeberation as he held up three fingers while pointing towards his son who was sitting in the stands. The new celebration was decoded by the ESPN.

They revealed that earlier in the day, Ronaldo’s son, Cristiano Jr. had scored for the Al-Nassr’s youth team and that’s why Ronaldo pointed towards his son with three fingers showing that they made it scoring a hat-trick of goals together in a day.
Cristiano Ronaldo also shared a message for the fans on his social media saying that it was all team efforts and dedicated the win to the Al-Nassr’s fans. CR7 wrote on X – “Great team effort! Big win tonight—this one’s for the fans!”

Ronaldo and his side will be next in action on 23 September as they face Al-Hazm in the King Cup Champions round of 32 fixture.
