New Delhi: Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is a complete package of entertainment. Be it for his lofty drives and down-the-track slogs against spinners or his on-field banters with opposition players, Pant never fails to evoke laughter for the audience.
On the day 3 action of the ongoing India-Bangladesh first Test, Pant was caught on stump mic asking Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto to place a fielder in a particular position before facing a delivery. The most interesting part about this request was that Shanto actually obliged to it.

Pant and Shubman Gill consolidated the hosts’ lead in the second innings with composure and constant attacking gamestyle. Pant was the aggressor among the two, belting nine fours and three sixes. He remained not out on 82 and Gill was batting at 86 along with him before the lunch. India’s lead escalated up to 432 as Pant and Gill walked back to the pavilion.
Rishabh Pant’s response to Litton Das
Rishabh Pant scored 39 runs from 59 balls in the first innings before Ravichandran Ashwin (113) and Ravindra Jadeja (86) rebuild the Indian batting. During the 15th over of the Indian innings, Taskin Ahmed bowled a good length ball to Yashasvi Jaiswal who played it towards the gully.
Pant wanted to pick a single but Jaiswal refused to it. However, after the fielder threw the ball at the non-striker’s end, it ricocheted off Pant’s pads and went towards mid-on. Pant didn’t had a second thought to plunder for a single run at that moment.
Bangladesh wicketkeeper Litton Das wasn’t pleased with his counterpart for that run and was involved in a brief discussion in Hindi.
