New Delhi: New Zealand Cricket (NZC) on Wednesday announced their official home schedule for the 2024-25 season. New Zealand will host the likes of England, Sri Lanka and Pakistan at home starting with a three-match Test series against Ben Stokes & Co. in November this year. New Zealand will also head to Pakistan to play a tri-series before the Champions Trophy 2025 in February.
New Zealand’s men’s team has three Tests, six ODIs and 8 T20Is in their schedule apart from the Champions Trophy while the women’s team will play six ODIs and as many T20Is. The three-match Test series against England will be followed by a limited-overs series against Sri Lanka consisting of three T20Is and 3 ODIs.
New Zealand will travel to Pakistan in February for a tri-series against the hosts and South Africa before the start of the Champions Trophy 2025. The tri-series will serve as a preparatory competition for all three teams ahead of the multi-nation tournament which will be hosted by Pakistan. Post the Champions Trophy, New Zealand will play a five-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series in March-April.
The limited-overs series against Pakistan is likely to clash with IPL 2025 which might get underway in late March or in the first week of April. It remains to be seen if NZC will provide NOC to all the Kiwi players who will be featuring in the IPL, relieving them of international duty or if they will join IPL 2025 late.
