Hyderabad: Two robbers covered in a burqa and helmet barged into Shree Jagadamba Jewellers gold shop in Medchal on Thursday and attacked, injured the owner of the shop with a big knife, tv9 telugu reported.
The CCTV footage of the incident, which surfaced online, shows the two men, one in a burqa and other wearing a helmet, entering the gold shop and threatening the owner Sesharam and then stabbing him under the neck.
The footage also shows the robbers walking out with some money and gold and then escaping on a bike.
The gold shop owner and another worker can be seen running out to seek help from the locals. The salesman can be seen hitting the burqa clad thief with a chair.
The injured owner has been treated at the hospital.
Check posts were set up in Medchal neighbourhood while the police are trying to identify the suspects with the help of CCTV cameras. A case has been registered and special teams have been formed to nab the thieves.
