New Delhi: Team India star Virat Kohli came up with a great gesture for a young fan in Barbados ahead of the Men in Blue’s clash against Afghanistan in the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup 2024 on Thursday, June 20. Kohli was spotted giving his autograph to a fan on an Indian team jersey, putting a smile on the youngster’s face.
Team India recently unwinded by playing some volleyball on the beach ahead of the start of their Super 8 campaign in Barbados. India made it to the Super 8 after finishing in the top spot in Group A. Rohit Sharma & Co. remained unbeaten in the group stage with three wins in a row in their first three matches before their final game against Canada was washed out due to rain.
Kohli didn’t enjoy a great campaign in the group stage but will be hoping to get back among the runs in the Super 8. Ahead of the all-important clash against Afghanistan, the Team India star caught up with his fans during the team’s break and fulfilled their request for autographs and selfies. In a video going viral on social media, Kohli can be seen signing an India jersey for a young fan, who is standing with his mother.

Virat Kohli aims to bounce back
Kohli endured a dismal run in the group stage as he failed to get going in all three of India’s completed matches. The Team India star registered disappointing scores of 1,0 and 4 in three outings in the group stage and finished with just 5 runs to his name. He failed to provide good starts to the team as an opener but will be hoping to bounce back in the Super Eight.
Kohli was in top-notch form for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2024 ahead of the start of the T20 World Cup and will be hoping to regain his touch in the Caribbean. Kohli’s form will be crucial for the Indian team if they are to fancy their chances of going all the way in the tournament. India will take on Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Australia in the Super 8.
