New Delhi: Putting all the speculations to rest and setting the record straight, star Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya and Serbian model Natasa Stankovic announced separation after four years of marriage. The news was in the air for quite a few months with fans noticing a few changes in Natasa’s social media activity and fewer public appearances with Pandya.
However, nothing was confirmed as the couple kept mum on the heated topic and avoided anything related to their relationship. Speculations continued running rife as the couple hadn’t spotted together for a long time – including Pandya’s IPL 2024 stint where Stankovic used to be a regular in the stands and even after India’s T20 World Cup triumph.
While some called it fake and named it a PR stunt, the couple, however, indeed confirmed their divorce on Thursday as they posted a note on their respective social media handles at the same time. The note highlighted that the couple tried hard to make their marriage work but it ultimately couldn’t and that they will continue to raise their son Agastya together. They requested privacy in this “difficult and sensitive time.”
What could Hardik Pandya lose from his net worth?
Just like the couple’s divorce rumours popped every now and then, it has now been speculated that the divorce might prove costly for the Indian all-rounder, who could suffer a major setback in terms of his net worth which is Rs 91 crore. He could face a financial impact of up to Rs 63 crore which might significantly affect his wealth.
With the law system granting equal rights to the divorcee women and the eligibility to ask for alimony and for several other financial assets, Pandya might have a lot at stake. Although a major portion of his wealth comes from the IPL, where he takes a hefty Rs 15 crore from Mumbai Indians, his income from the national duty is handsome as well, being a centrally contracted player from the BCCI.
Pandya endorses several brands like Gillette and Gulf Oil and earns around Rs 1 crore per advertisement, which contributes significantly to his wealth. He also has a few real estate assets that reveal his extravagant lifestyle – including a penthouse in his hometown Vadodara worth Rs 3.6 crore and a Rs 30 crore apartment in Mumbai. Pandya also possesses luxury rides as his collection includes high-end models such as the Lamborghini Huracan EVO and Audi A6.
A part of Pandya’s income goes for his philanthropic efforts like his donations during the COVID-19 pandemic and support for widows of paramilitary forces. This demonstrates his commitment to social causes as well.
Battling personal challenges
Little did anyone know what Pandya was going through in the last six months as he tackled all the trolls on the internet and booing in the stadiums across India during the IPL 2024. His poor run and specifically replacing Rohit Sharma as the MI skipper was a major reason for the crowd not being gentle on him. He didn’t vent anything out and surprisingly bagged a selection in India’s T20 World Cup squad. He justified his worth in the team with a match-winning performance in the final of the marquee event.
As Hardik Pandya and Natasa Stankovic announced separation after four years of marriage, a lot could be at stake for the Indian cricketer financially. Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
