When will Mohammed Shami make Team India comeback? Report reveals details

New Delhi: Away from international cricketing action since months, Mohammed Shami is all eager to make a comeback in the Indian cricket team. The ace Indian pacer suffered an injury during the ODI World Cup 2023 which kept him away from the action. But now that he has recovered, he looks on course for a timely comeback.

The Indian paceman, who emerged as the frontrunner of the Indian cricket team during the showpiece event, has been practicing hard since undergoing surgery in February this year. Recently, many pictures and videos of Shami emerged on social media which showed him rigorously involved in net practice sessions as well as the gym.

Management wants Shami fit for IND-AUS series

While the management wants the 33-year-old pacer fit for the India vs Australia five-match series later this year, Shami is touted to make a comeback in the Ranji Trophy opener on October 11. Reports last month suggested that the paceman would make a return to Indian cricket in home Test series against Bangladesh in September but that for now seems impossible.

However, a report in Indian Express states that Shami could be part of the India squad in the Test series against New Zealand, which will take place after the culmination of the Bangladesh Tests. The report further suggests that the fast bowler could possibly make a return for the second or third Test match against the Kiwis.

While he’s certain to hit the cricketing field during the Ranji Trophy games for Bengal in October, the question of his international comeback is still not confirmed. India have missed the services of the ace pacer in this entire cricketing season and would want to have him back as soon as possible. The last video which emerged online and went viral on social media was of Shami practicing hard at the nets in NCA, Bengaluru.

Ace Indian pacer Mohammed Shami is set to make his Team India comeback soon. Shami has been out of action since the ODI World Cup 2023.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
