New Delhi: It has been confirmed by the new Juventus head coach, Thiago Motta, that Federico Chiesa won’t be a part of his plans next season and thus, he has been asked to search for a new club. There are interests coming in from a few Italian clubs as well as from the Premier League but which club would suit him the most is the main question here. As we have the 2024/25 season upon us, there is no doubt that fans will get to witness the Italian winger joining a new club.
Federico Chiesa was linked to several European teams this summer, but new Juventus manager Thiago Motta made it clear this past weekend that he is not in his plans for the next campaign. Despite a few small reservations, Chiesa looks like the perfect fit for Motta’s tactical style, so it seems like a strange choice, but in the end, it’s the result of circumstances that started long before the Coach came to Turin. So here’s a look at some of the top clubs that can sign the Italian winger as he would fit their tactics and lineup perfectly.
Liverpool

Liverpool have been pretty quite ever since the summer transfer window begun as they have made zero signing and the premier league 2024/25 campaign kicks off in a few week’s time. However, this is their chance to finally make a headline signing as Chiesa is very much the player who would fit into the Red’s plans. Liverpool are in a big need of a right winger who can replace Mohamed Salah as his future at Liverpool looks uncertain and with the age factor coming into consideration. Even if the Egyptian decides to stay at Anfield next season, there is no repla
cement for the winger in Liverpool’s long term plans.
Chiesa is the perfect replacement as the 26-year-old certainly has a lot to offer and is now hitting his peak years. The Italian winger has established himself as one of the most dangerous right wingers in Europe with his pace and ability to beat the defenders. His playing style isn’t too different from Salah as he likes to make runs towards the opposition box and has shown his class playing for Juventus. He just might be the missing piece that Liverpool need and it would be exciting to see how he would perform under Slot, if Liverpool decide to sign the Italian.
Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs are heavily linked with the Italian winger and it is understandable why they are keen on signing Chiesa, as they are looking to find a well established winger who can also play further upfront as a striker. Chiesa would be a good fit for Postecoglou’s side as he will offer him with a few options to either play him at the right flank or a striker. Tottenham do have Kulusevski as their right winger who has been decent for them, but Chiesa’s presence on the right flank would form a brilliant wing partnership between him and Heung Min Son.
With the fans asking questions regarding the involvement of Richarlison next season, Ange Postecoglou might just have a plan to sort his striker problem. This plan might involve Son playing as a striker while having chiesa on the left flank and Kulusevski on the right. Son has proven that he can be as productive, playing as a striker, as he is playing at the left flank. Addition of Chiesa to the Spurs lineup would give Postecoglou some options to experiment with and this could be one of them.
Inter Milan

One of the Serie A clubs that have shown interest in the Italian winger, Inter would be a great option for Chiesa. The Nerazzuri are anyway trying to offload a few attackers including the likes of Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic as their squad is already cluttered with a numerous strikers. However, they still don’t have a proper winger who can threaten from the either of the two flanks. Chiesa might be the perfect fit for them as his natural position has always been playing at the right side of the park.
However, Inter have set their sights on Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson as their top target. Chiesa’s chance of joining the Scudetto winning side, but it would certainly be a good signing for both the parties as Chiesa still has a lot to offer to the team.
Fiorentina

Chiesa’s return to I Viola looks like a big possibility as Fiorentina will be looking for a replacement for their star performer Nico Gonzalez, who is likely to join some other club. Chiesa joining Fiorentina might turn out to be the perfect return, as he is familiar with the club’s system and the environment, besides he will be joining his former side with a lot more on pitch experience. The Italian winger joined the Violets back in the year 2016.
He had some of his best performances and campaigns for Fiorentina as a young prospect and he was one of their main men on the pitch. After spending five seasons at Fiorentina, he made his move to Juventus in the 2020/21 season. It looks like a possibility that the 26 year old might return and be a part of an impressive Fiorentina side next season.
