New Delhi: According to an official report provided to the Barcelona’s members, Sergio Agüero filed a complaint against Barcelona for €3 million ($3.2 million) over money owed as part of his 2021 contract termination. The case is still pending in court. Agüero, signed a two-year contract with Barça from Man City in 2021, but he only played in five games before having to retire due to cardiac issues he had during a La Liga match against Alavés.
In December of that year, he made his formal retirement announcement when he and the club came to an early contract termination. But according to insiders and a report outlining Barça’s financial statements for the 2023–24 campaign, the former Argentina striker filed a lawsuit against the team earlier this year.

The Argentine forward’s cardiac issue forced him to terminate his professional career early in December 2021. He had only recently moved from Manchester City to Barcelona in preparation for the 2021–2022 season, but his time with the Catalan giants was cut short due to health issues.
Aguero and the team appeared to have split peacefully when he announced his retirement, but it has now been made public that Aguero is suing Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo. Barcelona revealed that they received a conciliation letter from Aguero, who alleges that he should be paid €3 million in compensation for his contract termination, in their annual financial report for 2023–2024.
