New Delhi: English legend James Anderson is widely hailed as one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time. A Test superior, Anderson was a mainstay for England in the longest format as he ended his career last year with a record 704 wickets in a span of 21 years. Personally, there hasn’t been much left for Anderson to achieve with an illustrious career behind his back, but he admits that he wishes he had played more in T20 cricket.
Anderson could only represent England in 19 T20Is between 2007 and 2009, in which he picked 18 wickets, as he shifted his focus to ODIs and mainly towards Tests afterward. It is noteworthy that Anderson recently made his T20 return, after nearly 11 years, as he currently represents Lancashire in the Vitality T20 Blast. He came forward to talk about his short T20 career, admitting that he has missed the format for the past 10 years.
“I’m absolutely loving it, it’s been amazing. I’ve only played three games, and my opinion might change very quickly over the next couple of weeks… but I feel like I’ve missed out over the last 10 years. It is so much fun. I wouldn’t change anything in my Test career, but it would have been nice to play a little bit more (T20) over the last 10 years,” Anderson said on the sidelines of a DP World event at Lord’s this week.

‘Nervous’ Anderson
Moreover, Anderson also talked about his experience of returning to the format and taking the field for Lancashire in the ongoing T20 Blast. He admitted that he was nervous before his first game and hoped that he would stay fit to play for them throughout the year.
“I was really nervous before my first game, but just being around Lancashire for the last however-many years, I’ve been dipping in and out. It has been nice to settle in and get to know the guys properly, and try to have an impact in the team and on the squad. Hopefully, I can stay fit and keep doing it for the rest of the year,” Anderson added.
It is interesting to note that Anderson has so far played four matches for Lancashire and has already taken 10 wickets, maintaining an average of 10.30 and an economy rate of 6.86.
James Anderson recently spoke about his wish of having a prolonging T20 career amid returning to the format after a long absence of 11 years. He is currently representing Lancashire in the T20 Blast. Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
