New Delhi: WWE began the talent cuts from their promotion on Saturday, February 8. According to Fightful, two former teammates of AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, have been released by WWE. This weekend has been a roller-coaster ride for the wrestlers, as many wrestlers saved their contracts while many were cut down by WWE.
Giovanni Vinci is also released with Gallows and Anderson. The trio joined Isla Dawn, Blair Davenport, Sonya Deville, the authors of pain, Cedric Alexander, and Paul Ellering who have been released over the weekend.
These talent cuts will make space for new talents to join the main roster. Anderson was out of the company as he was suffering from an injury. The surgery had been done last November and in December, he announced that he would be out of action ‘indefinitely’.
Gallows and Vinci also have not competed in 2025 so far and both didn’t make an appearance in the latest premium live event Royal Rumble 2025.
The team of Gallows and Anderson made their debut in WWE in 2020, when Styles was feuding against John Cena. They came to help their former teammate. Both spent the majority of time in WWE NXT in 2024.
Meanwhile, Vinci joined WWE in 2017 and won the NXT tag team title with Marcel Barthel, now known as Ludwig Kaiser. Kaiser made an appearance in the Royal Rumble 2025 but Vinci didn’t and he also didn’t get more opportunities in singles matches.
Vinci was called up in the main roster in 2022 but his consecutive losses in WWE ended up losing the contract.
