New Delhi: The WWE superstar had to be rushed to the hospital after he suffered multiple injuries on this week’s RAW episode. The former Tag team champion joined Dominik Mysterio to take on the War Raiders on January 28. During the match, JD McDonagh tried to attempt a moonsault flip on the Ivar but he failed.
He landed awkwardly on his opponent before whiplashing on the commentary desk. His head snapped back after the direct contact between the top of the signage fence and his neck. McDonagh looked in heavy pain after the landing. The WWE superstar fell on the floor with his hand over his head. The member of War Raider Ivar also checked on his opponent whether he was in a condition to compete.

WWE commentator Michael Cole also called for medical help on-air and said that match officials must check on McDonagh to ensure he was alright. “Somebody’s got to check McDonagh after that. McDonagh’s lucky he doesn’t have a damn broken neck” Cole said, as per multiple outlets. Despite landing awkwardly, McDonagh resumed the fight and finished the match. The War Raider hit Dominik Mysterio with the War Machine and retained the World Tag Team titles.
‘I’ve got a couple of broken ribs and a punctured lung’: JD McDonagh
After the match, WWE confirmed that McDonagh had suffered a broken rib and also punctured a lung in the fight. The WWE star also addressed the incident and thanked everyone for their support. He further added that he has got a couple of broken ribs and a punctured lung. McDonagh also confirmed that he will be out for a couple of months due to several injuries.
“I’ve got a couple of broken ribs and a punctured lung, so I’m going to be out for a couple months. All things considered, it could have been a lot worse, so I’m grateful for that. See ya in a bit” McDonagh wrote on X.
