Visakhapatnam: TDP MLA Ganta Srinivas Rao and Janasena leaders on Sunday visited the newly constructed lavish ‘tourism complex’ in Rushikonda, Vizag and revealed the pictures of the building to the public, which was restricted by the previous YCP government.
The Rushikonda Project was built under Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation at a cost of cost Rs 500 crore with the intention for it to be ex-CM Jagan Reddy’s camp office after elections.
The construction began in 2021 and was allocated a budget of Rs 365.24 crore. It has extensive landscaping, protection systems, lifts, air conditioning, fire safety units.
Speaking to the media, TDP MLA Srinivas Rao said that Chandrababu Naidu will visit the place soon and will soon make a decision on how best to make use of the complex, which appears to have been built for personal use.
“The view from inside shows that this was built lavishly for the personal use of YS Jagan. Such structures were seen during the regime of Saddam Hussein and now Jagan built this palace. Since the construction began, it was kept a secret, entry restricted to common people. Construction and environmental norms were violated.”
YSRCP responded to the accusations on social media platform X and said that the buildings do not belong to one person individually and that they are government assets. It was constructed prioritising Visakhapatnam.”
This comes after the new Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his cabinet took office last week.
In August 2023, police denied entry to JSP chief and now Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan and asked Janasena leaders to stay on the opposite side of the road from the constructions.
