Former AIADMK Minister accused of land grabbing
Prakash, a businessman from Karur, had filed a complaint that AIADMK former minister MR Vijayabaskar had seized 22 acres of land worth Rs 100 crore through fake documents. Subsequently, Karur-Melakarur sub-registrar Mohammad Abdul Kadar also lodged a complaint about land grabbing at Karur Town Police Station.
In this regard, the Karur District Crime Branch police registered a case and were investigating. Based on this, a case was registered under 8 sections against a total of 7 persons including Shobana, Yuvraj, and Praveen. Fearing that his name might be added to it, Mr. Vijayabhaskar had filed a petition seeking anticipatory bail in the Karur District Principal Sessions Court on June 12.
The court dismissed MR Vijayabhaskar’s anticipatory bail petition when the hearing took place on June 25. After the case was transferred to CB-CID, MR Vijayabhaskar went absconding after being denied anticipatory bail.
