Hyderabad: A man who was talking on mobile phone and crossing the road was killed on Sunday in a hit and run incident near NTPC X road towards Ghatkesar, CCTV footage showed.
The deceased man identified as Giri Babu, 38, a resident of RGK colony, Annojiguda, was crossing NH-163 road, when a car swerved and hit the man, resulting in his death. The car driver fled the scene immediately, as per CCTV footage.
A complaint of negligent, rash driving said, “Accused driver of unknown car who was driving towards Uppal from Ghatkesar, drove in a rash and negligent manner and dashed the injured person. The man received severe injuries to his head and legs. He was shifted to Vajra hospital immediately for treatment and was later moved to Kamineni hospital for better treatment. Thereafter, he was shifted to Gandhi Hospital, where he died undergoing treatment.”
The complaint was lodged at Pocharam IT police station and a case has been registered against the driver. They are on the lookout for the driver.
