New Delhi: Former India batter Vinod Kambli is reportedly battling serious health issues as a video of him has recently gone viral on the internet where he is seen struggling to walk and stand on his own. The video has left the Indian cricket fans shocked and also concerned about his health. Kambli is well known for his explosive batting style and for being a close friend of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
In the video, which was shot by a bystander in Mumbai, Kambli could be seen struggling to stand on his feet even when he took support from a motorcycle that was parked at the roadside. He was seen making facial gestures of asking for help from people around him as a couple of men arrived at his rescue and took him to safety. The moment was indeed heartbreaking and its video was shared by a person named Narendra Gupta on social media.
“Former cricketer Vinod Kambli is battling poor health. Vinod Kambli, a former Indian cricketer, has been open about his struggles with health issues and personal problems in recent years. He has been hospitalized several times due to various health concerns, including heart problems and depression. I hope he recovers soon and gets the support he needs!” Gupta wrote as the caption.

Health issues and India stint
Kambli and his health issues have made headlines earlier as well. In 2013, he was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after suffering a cardiac arrest while driving from Chembur to Bandra. In 2012, he had undergone angioplasty on two of his blocked arteries. He too has openly discussed his battle with heart problems and depression in the past.
Kambli was a powerful batter for Team India as he played 104 ODIs and 17 Tests from 1993 to 2000. He amassed 2477 runs in ODIs with the help of two centuries and 14 fifties and scored 1084 runs in Tests including four centuries and 3 half-centuries. He last featured in the Indian domestic circuit playing for Mumbai in 2004.
