Actor Siddharth clarifies about his support for CM Revanth Reddy’s initiative on drugs

Hyderabad: Actor Siddharth, who features in the upcoming Bharateeyudu 2 movie, issued a clarification that he supports Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s initiative to curb drug menace in the state.

In a story posted to his Instagram handle, Siddharth said that some people misunderstood his remarks at a press conference for the movie.  In the video he said, “In Bharateeyudu 2 movie, we talk about Zero tolerance. Zero tolerance against corruption and zero tolerance against drugs. At the press meet, I answered a question and some people misunderstood my remarks and I wanted to clear it up.”

He further stated that he completely supports CM Revanth Reddy and Telangana state government in their fight against drugs. “Our children’s future is in our hands and to show them the right path is our duty. I have always supported social initiatives through my career and I will support them in the future. If anyone is hurt by comments, I am sorry. That was not my intention. ”

At the press meet he had said that actors don’t need any government’s push to be socially responsible and that they do things based on their conscience. “Whichever CM requests us to do something, we will do it.”

This comes after CM Revanth Reddy asked Telugu film industry personalities to make short videos against drug abuse and release the clips with their movies so that they can be played before the movie begins. “The film industry also has the responsibility of safeguarding society,” he said at the event a few days ago.

Siddharth’s latest film will be in theatres on July 12.
