Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph is likely over some places over North coastal AP, South coastal AP, Yanam, Rayalaseema on Monday, IMD-Amaravati said.
Heavy rain is likely to occur in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitaramaraju districts on Tuesday while Anakapalli, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Palnadu, Prakasam, Nellore, YSR, Annamaiya, Chittoor and Tirupati districts are likely to receive light to moderate rains on Tuesday.
Similar conditions are expected to prevail over the next two days in many of the above mentioned districts.
Status of Southwest monsoon:
Southwest Monsoon has advanced into some more parts of the Arabian Sea, Gujarat state; remaining parts of Maharashtra, some more parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh; remaining parts of Odisha and some parts of Jharkhand, the weather department said.
Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of North Arabian Sea and Gujarat; remaining parts of West Bengal, Bihar, UP, Uttarakhand.
Light to moderate rain in Telangana:
India Meteorological Department in Hyderabad said that winds are blowing from the west and south-west directions in the state. Nirmal, Nizamabad, Nalgonda and Jagityal districts of Telangana are likely to receive light to moderate rains on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph are expected in the rest of the region.
IMD said that there will be heavy rains in AP for the next 3 days. It said that a surface circulation has formed in the Odisha and Chhattisgarh regions.
