Security has been heightened at TDP chief and incoming Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s residence in Undavalli, Vijayawada as a host of TDP leaders are rushing to meet him after his party’s victory in AP Assembly and general elections on June 4.
Senior police officials from Guntur, who are supervising the security arrangements, have been verifying details of MLAs and MPs and other politicians before allowing them in to meet Naidu.
Officials are in consultations with senior TDP leaders to finalise a venue for the swearing-in ceremony of Chandrababu Naidu on June 12.
CBN refuses to meet three IPS officers:
Meanwhile, the incoming CM refused to meet with three IPS officials who arrived at his residence for a courtesy call.
These officials include CID chief Sanjay, who played an important role in registering cases against Chandrababu Naidu in Skill development case among others.
Former Intelligence chief PSR Anjaneyulu and senior IPS officer Kolli Raghuram Reddy, who played a key role in arresting Naidu from Nandyal were also denied appointment.
TDP majority in Assembly, general elections:
Telugu Desam Party, which won 16 Lok Sabha seats, will be a significant part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
TDP won 135 seats in the Assembly elections, crossing the majority mark of 88 by itself while its allies Jana Sena and BJP added 21 and 8 seats respectively taking the tally in Assembly to 164. YSRCP has won a mere 11 seats in the Assembly, leaving Jagan Reddy without even the leader of opposition role.
