Historical and Spiritual Legacy of ISKCON

ISKCON draws its practices from the teachings of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, a 15th-century saint regarded as a direct incarnation of Krishna. He spearheaded a widespread Bhakti Movement, inspiring the compilation of numerous texts on Krishna consciousness.

  1. To systematically propagate spiritual knowledge and techniques of spiritual living for societal unity and peace.
  2. To promote Krishna consciousness as revealed in the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam.
  3. To unite members and humanity with Krishna, understanding the soul’s divine connection to the Godhead.
  4. To teach and promote congregational chanting of the holy name as taught by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
  5. To establish places of transcendental worship dedicated to Krishna.
