Bangladesh bowled out for 146 runs, India need 95 to win Kanpur Test on final day

New Delhi: India produced a masterful bowling display to dismiss Bangladesh for 146 runs in their second innings, needing only 95 runs to win in Kanpur of the fifth and final day and complete a 2-0 series sweep.

Bangladesh began the day behind by 26 runs and apart from a 55-run stand from Shadman Islam (50) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (19), they couldn’t put together any major partnership.

Veteran Mushfiqur Rahim (37) was the last man to be dismissed a ball before lunch as Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja claimed three wickets each.

The visitors were shot out for 233 in their first innings, after which India put a quick-fire 285/9 to declare with a 52-run lead in a match where two days of action were called off due to wet outfield.

Brief scores:

Bangladesh 233 all out and 146 all out in 47 overs (Shadman Islam 50; Ravichandran Ashwin 3/50, Ravindra Jadeja 3/34, Jasprit Bumrah 3/17) vs India 285/9 declared in 34.4 overs (Yashasvi Jaiswal 71, KL Rahul 68, Shakib Al Hasan 4/78, Mehidy Hasan Miraz 4/41).
