New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah has been in brilliant form in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He has picked up 21 wickets in the three Test matches so far. Bumrah picked up 8 wickets and won the Player of the Match award in the first Test. His sensational spell helped India win the match by 295 runs.

He also took six wickets in the third Test at The Gabba, and helped his team drew the match. The five-match Test series is currently levelled at 1-1. Bumrah is on the verge of becoming the fastest Indian pace bowler to take 200 wickets in Test cricket. Indian legend Kapil Dev holds the record for taking the fastest 200 Test wickets in 50 matches. Bumrah has picked up 194 wickets in 43 Test matches and needs just six wickets to achieve the milestone.

If Bumrah takes six wickets in the fourth Test at the MCG, he will become the joint second-fastest to reach the 200-wicket milestone, along with Ravindra Jadeja. Former spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is the fastest on this list; he reached the milestone in 37 Test matches.

Jasprit Bumrah on the cusp of breaking another record

The Indian speedster is just five wickets away from breaking the record of most wickets by an Indian pacer in an away Test series. Kapil Dev holds the record after he picked up 25 wickets in a five-match Test series in 1991-92. Bumrah currently has taken 21 wickets in three Test matches against Australia.
