New Delhi: Spanish sensational Carlos Alcaraz booked the final berth at the French Open 2025 on Friday after his opponent Lorenzo Musetti was forced to retire. The defending champion at the Roland Garros had bagged two consecutive sets after going down in the first one before the fourth set could not be played beyond a limit as the Italian had to retire.
The score line of the interesting clash remained at 4-6,7-6,6-0,2-0 and it was shaping up to be a fantastic encounter but Musetti continued to struggle with a leg issue and was unable to continue after that by way of which the Spanish tennis player was pronounced as the first finalist of the Grand Slam.
The winner of the clash between Serbian giant Novak Djokovic and another Italian Jannik Sinner later in the day would decide the other finalist of the French Open 2025 who would lock horns with Alcaraz in the finale on Sunday.

5th youngest to reach 5 Grand Slam finals
Spanish sensation Alcaraz has now become the fifth-youngest player to reach five Grand Slam finals in the Open Era. He is also the third active male player to get to the major landmark, joining Serbian ace Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev in the elusive list.
The Spanish player good tennis throughout the game and in the first set especially, he made the Italian work hard for every point with a variety of shots. But Musetti managed to keep calm and bounced back soon to win the first set 6-4 after gaining two break points. The second and the third set belonged to Alcaraz where he did not let the opponent come close and in the fourth set, which had called for a fantastic game, the score was 2-0 when the Italian decided to retire.
