New Delhi: Malayalam-language action thriller Dhoomam starring Fahadh Faasil and Aparna Balamurali is once again releasing on OTT. Nearly after a year of its theatrical release, the film will now release on Hombale Films official YouTube channel for a wider reach, to mark World Tabacco Day on May 31.

Despite the collaboration between Pawan Kumar, Fahadh Faasil and Hombale Films, Dhoomam received critical backlash and encountered delays in its OTT release. Eventually, the film made its OTT debut on Apple TV under the Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) model, rather than on more conventional platforms. Now, to mark World No Tobacco Day, Hombale Films will release Dhoomam on its official YouTube channel on May 31. The film also features Roshan Mathew, Vineeth, Anu Mohan, Achyuth Kumar, Joy Mathew, and Nandhu.
Although Amazon Prime Video secured the digital rights of the film and was originally slated to release on OTT on 4 August, 2023, its release was postponed due to film’s poor box office performance. Subsequently, on 29 November 2023, the film was released on Apple TV and iTunes.
About Dhoomam
Dhoomam is Pawan Kalyan’s long-time dream project that he brought to the big screen as a Malayalam film. Initially , Pawan planned to collaborate with Hombale Films on a Kannada movie featuring late actor Puneeth Rajkumar but the project was halted to the actor’s untimely demise. When Hombale Films expressed interests in working with Fahadh Faasil, they inquired if Pawan had a suitable script and he pitched the story that eventually resulted in Dhoomam.
The film narrates the story of Avinash, the marketing head of a prominent tobacco corporation, who finds himself ensnared by an unknown adversary.
