‘Dying to see a batting image’: Suryakumar Yadav comments on Bumrah’s Instagram post

New Delhi: Team India is gearing up for the much-anticipating red-ball cricket on home soil. After arriving in Chennai on Thursday night, the Men in Blue have kicked off the preparations for the first Test match against Bangladesh, starting on September 19.

On Sunday, ace speedster Jasprit Bumrah shared four pictures from his latest training session in the build up to the Bangladesh Test series. He will be in action for the first time after guiding India to the T20 World Cup in Barbados with his parsimonious spell against South Africa in the final.

Bumrah took to his official Instagram handle to share pictures from his practice session. In one of those pictures, he was seen running with Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja. Two pictures showed him bowling in the nets. However, there was no picture of his batting with the distinction of being a pace bowler.

Bumrah’s India and Mumbai Indians teammate Suryakumar Yadav quipped in the comment sections, expressing the wish to see an image of him batting in the nets.

“Aahhhh was dying to see a batting image booooooom,” Suryakumar wrote in Bumrah’s comment as he concluded with a smiling emoticon.

Suryakumar Yadav out of action due to injury

Suryakumar Yadav expressed his targets to make a return to India’s Test setup after playing a solitary Test against Australia last year in Nagpur. He made himself available for the Mumbai team to feature in the Buchi Babu tournament against TNCA (Tamil Nadu Cricket Association) XI. He suffered a hand injury while fielding in that match, and subsequently, ruled out of the Duleep Trophy.

Suryakumar was appointed India’s T20I captain after Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the shortest format once India lifted the T20 World Cup in June. He started his first assignment on a fresh note as India swept the three-match T20I series 3-0 against Sri Lanka in their backyard in July.
