New Delhi: The 2025 Formula One season is yet to kickstart and Charles Leclerc has already suffered his first accident. No, it did not take place on the F1 circuit but behind the scenes during a studio shoot for Ferrari. Leclerc accidentally tore his racing suit, which he and fellow driver Lewis Hamilton revealed last week, during the shoot.
Ferrari extended Leclerc’s contract with the team few months ago and roped in Hamilton for the 2025 season from Mercedes, providing a fresh look to their team for the season ahead. Leclerc’s partner in Ferrari, Hamilton, suffered an accident in a pre-season testing drive in Spain last week while Leclerc tore his suit during a shoot on Friday. The duo have been making the headlines even before the start of the F1 calendar.
Leclerc admits to overeating
The formula one racer admitted to overeating during his holidays which resulted in weight gain and was the possible reason behind his torn suit. ‘I tore the racing suit,’ the Ferrari driver confessed honestly at the beginning of the video. After thinking for a while, however, Leclerc came up with a good explanation. ‘I ate too much during the winter break! Well, the racing suits used during the photo shoot are tighter, so we look a bit fitter,’ explained the Monegasque driver.

Post the incident, Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur and drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc happily posed for the cameras in a studio photoshoot just ahead of the launch of their new vehicle for the upcoming season. Ferrari’s new Formula One car for 2025, called the SF-25, will be unveiled on February 19, during a live stream from Maranello.
