New Delhi: Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya pulled off a spectacular running catch to get rid of Rishad Hossain during the 2nd T20I between India and Bangladesh at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday, October 09. It was an exceptional catch from Hardik which left fans in awe of his athleticism on social media.
The dismissal took place in the 14th over of Bangladesh’s 222-run chase when Hossain connected one towards wide long-on off the bowling of spinner Varun Chakaravarthy. The ball seemed to be travelling the distance before it was cut short by Hardik, who ran all the way from deep mid-wicket and made no mistakes to complete a brilliant catch.
Hardik had to cover a lot of ground but the all-rounder showcased great athleticism and reflexes to pull off a screamer on the boundary rope. It was arguably the best catch of the match and Hardik’s amazing effort was lauded by many on social media. The catch ensured that tail-ender Rishad departed after scoring 9 off 10 balls as Chakaravarthy picked up his 2nd wicket in the game.

Hardik, who produced a brilliant all-round display to help India thrash Bangladesh by six wickets in the first T20I in Gwalior on Sunday, continued his fine form in the 2nd T20I in Delhi. The all-rounder played a fine cameo from 19-ball 32 laced with 2 fours and 2 sixes to help India post a strong total of 221 runs on the board after half-centuries apiece from Nitish Reddy and Rinku Singh.

Nitish and Rinku starred with the bat while the bowlers produced an excellent all-round effort to help India thrash Bangladesh by 86 runs in the 2nd T20I. India registered their biggest-ever victory in terms of runs against Bangladesh in T20Is and clinched the three-match series with an unassailable 2-0 lead after bagging their second win on the trot.
Nitish top-scored for India with a sensational knock of 74 runs off 34 balls while Rinku played a stupendous knock of 53 runs off 29 balls. The duo shared a 108-run stand for the 4th wicket to lift India from 41/3 to 149/4 and set the stage for a big total for the hosts. Hardik’s quickfire cameo of 39 runs helped India cross the 200-run mark and post a huge total of 221 runs.
Bangladesh were no match to the Indian bowling attack as the visitors were restricted to 135/9 in 20 overs to suffer a huge defeat. Varun Chakaravarthy and Nitish picked up two wickets apiece while the likes of Mayank Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Abhishek Sharma and Riyan Parag all picked up a wicket apiece to play their part in the victory.
