New Delhi: Pakistan bowlers were once again heavy on Australia and this time it was the final ODI match at the Perth Stadium on Sunday. Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and elected to field first. The Pakistani bowlers got on to the rolling with Naseem Shah striking the first dismissal of the day, luring Jake Fraser-McGurk into a drive to kiss the timber as Rizwan took a comfortable catch.
Shaheen Afridi induced the edge of the promoted Aaron Hardie for Salman Ali Agha to dive in the slip cordon for a brilliant catch. Naseem later removed stand-in skipper Josh Inglis before Haris Rauf ended the resolute of opener Matthew Short with a short ball as the hosts were reduced to 56 for 3 after 11 overs.
The onus of rescuing the Australian ship lied on the shoulders of the experienced campaigners Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis. However, Maxwell didn’t stepped up to the occasion after he was caught by Saim Ayub at the backward point with an angling-back delivery from Haris Rauf which straightened up eventually.
For the third time in this series, Maxwell was outfoxed by Rauf and this was his second duck in three innings. Rauf has only bowled a total of nine deliveries to the Australian all-rounder in this series, and managed to get him out in all three games.

Interestingly, Rauf has played under Maxwell’s captaincy at Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League for a couple of seasons.

Naseem, Shaheen lead Australia’s collapse
Naseem Shah (3 for 54) and Shaheen Afridi (3 for 32) picked three wickets each to restrict the feeble Australian side to 140 for 9 with middle order batter Cooper Connolly having to retire hurt after suffering swelling on his left hand while attempting to play a pull shot against Mohammad Hasnain’s bowling.
Sean Abbott added valuable runs late in the innings before playing a barren shot to hole out to Haris Rauf off Shaheen’s bowling. Australia for the second time in a row have been bowled out for a low score, and that too Pakistan have utilised just four bowlers.
