Hyderabad: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Friday released an advisory amidst the ongoing global Microsoft outage, which led to cancelled flights, disruptions to banks, tv news channels and more.
In a note released to the press, the airport asked passengers to check with their respective airlines for updates and since the systems are down, formalities are being done manually – like issuing of board passes, hence the slowdown.
Airlines will guide the passengers and “We are closely working with all our stakeholders to minimise the inconvenience to our flyers,” RGIA said.
Moreover, all flights departing from 5:45 pm on Friday are cancelled.
This comes after airports in India reported that their systems across the network were affected by the outage in Microsoft Azure. Meanwhile, Airlines such as Indigo also put out advisories and said, “Our systems are currently impacted by a Microsoft outage, which is also affecting other companies. During this time booking, check-in, access to your boarding pass, and some flights may be impacted.”
