Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police identified the second accused in the rape case of a young dalit woman, who is a software professional, reports said.
The accused named Munagala Shivaji Reddy, is absconding and according to his Facebook profile, seems to be a follower of Congress MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy.
Meanwhile, the main accused Gautham Reddy has been arrested. “Gautham Reddy deliberately trapped the girl, who was his childhood friend and brought her to the hotel to rape her with his friend Shivaji Reddy. He invited the young woman on the pretext of celebrating her new job at Amazon and forcibly served 4 shots of vodka and then raped the unconscious victim,” LB Nagar DCP Praveen Kumar told Tv9 telugu.
The two absconded after the young woman recovered, identified them and screamed loudly, the police officer further stated. Gautham Reddy was arrested in less than 24 hours while hunt is on for the second accused.
Friends of the victim went to the hotel and took her to the hospital, where she is receiving treatment.
This also comes at a time when another woman was raped on a moving bus by the driver of a private bus company on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The woman dialed 100 and the bus was intercepted at Tarnaka junction near Osmania University police station limits, OU City Inspector Rajender said.
The main accused in the case is absconding while the co-driver was arrested by Osmania University Police.
