Chennai: Heavy to very heavy rain will occur at one or two places in the hilly areas of Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts, according to the Chennai Meteorological Department.
“Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puduvai, and Karaikal today and on the 26th due to change in the wind speed direction. Heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places over hilly areas of Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts, hilly regions of Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli districts, and Kanyakumari districts at one or two places,” the weather agency said.
Rainy days for Tamil Nadu till July 1
Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal areas on June 27. Heavy rain is likely at a couple of places over hilly areas of Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts on the same day.
Similarly, from June 28th to 1st of July, light to moderate rain may occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. On the other hand, for the next five days from today to the 29th, the maximum temperature in Tamil Nadu, Puduwai, and Karaikal will be generally below normal and at some places 2°-3° Celsius above normal.

The sky will remain partly cloudy for the next 24 hours. Light/moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely during evening/night over a few parts of the city. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 36° Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 27°-28° Celsius.
