New Delhi: Mumbai Indians stalwart Rohit Sharma showcased intent during his batting against Sunrisers Hyderabad but was unable to convert his fiery cameo into a big score during an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game on Thursday.
Chasing a modest total of 163 set by the Sunrisers, Rohit along with fellow opener Ryan Rickelton gave Mumbai a brisk start with his quick knock of 26 off just 16 balls but fell victim to a delivery bowled by Hyderabad bowler Pat Cummins.
Rohit, who was under scanner for his performance with the bat in IPL 2025, posted his highest score in this edition. Coming into the match, Rohit had scores of 0, 8, 13, 17 and 18 but he exhibited some rhythm in the encounter as the stalwart looked in fine touch. During his small innings, Rohit smashed three massive sixes offering a delight for his plethora of fans at the Wankhede stadium. By virtue of the maximums, Rohit scripted a big record at the Mumbai stadium in the IPL.

Rohit Sharma joined an elite list of batters with most sixes in IPL at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. With three maximums, Rohit reached a total of 102 sixes at the stadium in the cash-rich league, leading the elusive list. He reached the feat in his 82nd innings in the league. Kieron Pollard is next on the list with 85 sixes to his name.
