Jaipur Pink Panthers announces star raider as their new captain for PKL 11

New Delhi: Jaipur Pink Panthers announced Arjun Deshwal as their new captain for Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 11. Deshwal joined Pink Panthers in season 8 and immediately became a fan favorite by Jaipur fans. He made impact in his debut season.

Deshwal scored 268 points and never looked back and gave amazing performances in the follow-up seasons. He scored 296 points in season 9 and 278 points in the previous season. Deshwal’s inclusion in the camp made Pink Panthers champions of PKL season 9 and semi-finalists in the previous season.

Deshwal also played in the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) inaugural season. He is training hard for the upcoming season. He is also one of the players who got the franchise captaincy after only 3 seasons.

“I’m looking forward to another season in the PKL, the team has been training hard and I am looking forward to carrying this team along and hopefully this time I can help lead Jaipur Pink Panthers to their third silverware.” Arjun Deshwal said after becoming captain of the side.

Pink Panthers will be playing their opening game of PKL 11 against Bengal Warriorz in Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad. The Pink Panthers are looking forward to again chase for the PKL glory again. Pink Panthers are the two-time PKL champion and will be looking to become the second team in PKL history to lift the PKL championship thrice.

Sunil Kumar was the skipper in the previous edition for Pink Panthers but they didn’t retain him before the auction nor did they buy back the experienced defender. Sunil had a disappointing season 10 as he only managed to score 65 points.

Pink Panthers also released the veteran raider, Rahul Chaudhary. They retained Deshwal for a disclosed amount for the PKL season 11.
