James Anderson eyes Shane Warne’s record in farewell Test
41-year-old Anderson is England’s leading wicket-taker of all time in Test cricket with a staggering 700 wickets to his name in 187 Test matches so far. He is also the third-highest wicket-taker of all time in Test history behind only the legendary Shane Warne (707) and Muttiah Muralitharan (800).
Anderson also holds the record for being the fast bowler with the most wickets in Test history. No other pacer has managed 700 wickets in the longest format. The England pacer has a chance to go past Warne and become the second-highest wicket-taker of all time in his farewell Test if he manages to finish with 8 or more wickets against West Indies.
Anderson will finish his career with 188 Test matches under his belt, the second most by any player behind only the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who played 200 Test matches for India.
