New Delhi: With the culmination of the T20 World Cup 2024 group games, the focus now shifts to the next crucial stage of the event – the super 8 stage. Out of the total 20 teams, 8 teams, who have emerged as the better sides will battle it out in the next stage for a spot in the semifinals, where only four teams will qualify.
Ahead of the start of the super 8 stage, Team India was witnessed sweating it out in the practice session in Barbados. India lock horns with Afghanistan in their first super 8 match on Thursday. A video of the their practice session emerged on social media and one moment caught the attention of everyone. In the video which was circulated on social media site X, Indian pace spreadhead Jasprit Bumrah was seen taking a splendid one-handed catch which amazed the social media users.
Bumrah has had a fantastic campaign in the group stage of the event where he has emerged as one of India’s top bowlers. The Men in Blue would want Bumrah to continue in the same manner and deliver when its required the most in the super 8 stages, that sets the base for their entry into the semifinals.

Apart from Bumrah, Indian batting star Virat Kohli, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and chinaman Kuldeep Yadav were also seen intensely practicing in the session ahead of the Caribbean leg of the tour. Meanwhile, Bumrah, who picked five wickets, including a clinical three wickets against arch-rivals Pakistan in the group stage, is key to India’s success.
India have performed admirably, showcasing resilience and capacity to recover from challenging situations—an essential quality for success in the Super Eight and knockout stages of the showpiece event.
