New Delhi: English pacer Jofra Archer and USA’ s Saurabh Netravalkar are among the latest entrants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction pool. The IPL auction will take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to include English injury-prone pacer and Netravalkar in the list.
Archer’s exclusion from the final list of players for the auction had sent shock waves across the cricketing circle as after being part of the initial list consisting of more than 1500 players, his name was cut out from the final list. It was learnt that the ECB did not want him to be part of the cash-rich league so as to focus on the English summer but Archer later managed to convince the board about his desire to play in the IPL 2025. Archer has become the 38th England player in the 2025 auction, joining white-ball skipper Jos Buttler and 42-year-old veteran James Anderson.
Hardik Tamore also included
Apart from Archer and Netravalkar, then BCCI also decided to include uncapped Mumbai wicketkeeper-batter Hardik Tamore. With the addition of these three players, the total number of participants in the IPL auction now goes up to 577, from 574. USA-based pacer Netravalkar is a notable edition to the mega auction list. A former India under-19 player, who later moved to the USA, has impressed with his performances on the international stage, including a remarkable performance against Pakistan in the Cricket World Cup qualifiers.
Mumbai player Tamore on the other end has been a regular performer in the domestic cricket, known for his superb batting technique and also performs his role as a wicketkeeper aptly, which becomes of utmost importance in a league like IPL.
