It was just moments after Brighton saw their second goal getting ruled out after VAR judged a a foul by Van Hecke inside the United box after Joao Pedro had found the back of the net. The ball was moved wide to Minteh, who clipped it up to the far post where Mitoma was lurking in. Although Mazraoui and Mitoma were both contesting it, the Seagulls’ winger made the crucial contact and collided with the upright to turn the ball home and give Brighton the lead in the hour mark.
He was heavily involved in each of Brighton’s forward plays, proving himself yet again to be one of their most important players on the pitch. The Japanese international scored his 18th goal for the club and his 2024/25 tally suggests that now he has eight goal contributions in the league.
