New Delhi: Team India produced a marvellous performance both with the bat and ball as they thumped Bangladesh in the second Test match at Kanpur by seven wickets on Tuesday. By virtue of this big win, the hosts swept the series 2-0, after they had won the first Test match at Chennai by 280 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was named the Player of the Match while Ravichandran Ashwin was named the Player of the Series.
Batters and bowlers stood up for the Indian team, showing the Bangla Tigers that they were no Pakistan, whom they had thrashed at home a month back. Bangladesh had shown some intent early on in the first Test match in Chennai but superior batting from Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja wasted their effort, putting the match in India’s pocket.
Enroute the special victory at the Green Park in Kanpur, Team India achieved a flurry of records because of a marvellous performance in the rain-affected match. Barring individual accolades which stars like Ashwin and others bagged, the team achieved some big records etching their name in the elite list.
