New Delhi: Manchester United have rejected an offer from Napoli for their young winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to reports. The Serie A side made the 20-year-old their top target, intending to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is expected to join Paris Saint-Germain. However, Napoli’s initial bid of around £40m fell well short of United’s valuation for the Argentine international.
Garnacho has been a significant player for United since making his debut in 2022, with 23 goals in 117 appearances. This season, he has netted eight times in 31 matches. Despite Napoli’s approach, the club sees Garnacho as a key part of their squad. Manager Ruben Amorim reiterated his faith in the winger, stating, “He has talent and is improving in this system.”

Napoli’s interest in Garnacho comes amid plans to reinvest funds from Kvaratskhelia’s impending transfer. The Georgian winger is reportedly moving to Paris, and coach Antonio Conte confirmed the move is underway. Garnacho, under contract at United until 2028, was seen as a suitable replacement.
Reports suggest Manchester United are open to selling academy graduates to address financial concerns but are not actively looking to offload Garnacho. The Athletic noted that any sale would provide pure profit due to his homegrown status. Nevertheless, the Red Devils have made it clear they are not entertaining offers below their valuation for him or Kobbie Mainoo.
Garnacho’s season has been eventful, including being dropped alongside Marcus Rashford for disciplinary reasons in December. However, he returned to the starting XI in United’s recent 3-1 victory over Southampton, where Amad Diallo’s hat-trick stole the show.
A Copa America winner with Argentina in 2024, Garnacho is highly regarded both at United and internationally. For now, Napoli will have to look elsewhere as United remain firm in their stance on the promising winger.
Napoli’s attempt to sign Alejandro Garnacho as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s replacement has been dismissed by Manchester United, who value the 20-year-old Argentine far higher than the proposed offer. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
